Kogan State School is part of The Darling Downs South West Education District and provides a co-educational, multi-age setting for students in grades Prep to Seven. The school operates as a two-teacher school and has a total enrolment of about 45 students. The school staff consists of two teachers, a part time teacher, Language Other Than English teacher, one itinerant Physical Education and Music teacher, one administrative officer, four teacher aides, one cleaner and a groundsman.

Kogan State School prides itself on providing and facilitating quality education for all students at our school. At Kogan State School we work as a team within the school context and the wider community to assist students to achieve personal goals and academic outcomes. Our team focuses on developing high levels of Literacy and Numeracy, with the levels of the remaining Key Learning Areas delivered primarily as integrated units of study. We map, record and report student progress against the Australian Curriculum and the Essential Learnings requirements and we regularly report student progress to parents.
